Selection of cutting equipment
Due to the high hardness and brittleness of optical quartz glass, it is difficult for ordinary cutting equipment to meet the requirements. High-precision cutting equipment, such as laser cutting machine and diamond cutting wheel cutting machine, should be selected. The laser cutting machine has the advantages of high cutting precision and small heat affected zone, and is suitable for cutting Shi Ying glass parts with complex shapes and high precision requirements. The diamond cutting wheel cutting machine has high cutting efficiency and relatively flat cutting surface, which is suitable for cutting large-size Shi Ying glass.
Setting of cutting parameters
The laser cutting machine needs to set the laser power, pulse frequency, cutting speed and other parameters reasonably. Generally speaking, for optical quartz glass with thin thickness, lower laser power and higher cutting speed can be used to reduce the influence of thermal effect; For Shi Ying glass with large thickness, the laser power should be increased appropriately, but the heat affected zone should be controlled to avoid cracks and other defects.

Matters needing attention in the operation process
Before cutting, make sure that the surface of Shi Ying glass is clean and free of dust, oil and other impurities, so as not to affect the cutting accuracy and quality. At the same time, Shi Ying glass should be fixed firmly to prevent displacement during cutting.
Proper cooling and lubrication measures should be used during cutting. For example, when laser cutting, air blowing cooling can be used to take away the heat generated by cutting in time to prevent Shi Ying glass from cracking or deformation due to overheating. The diamond cutting wheel cutting machine needs special cooling lubricant, which can not only reduce the cutting temperature, but also reduce the friction between the cutting wheel and Shi Ying glass and improve the quality of the cutting surface.

Post-cutting treatment
There may be tiny cracks, edge cracks or burrs on the edge of the cut Shi Ying glass, so it is necessary to carry out fine grinding and polishing to improve the edge quality and optical performance. Mechanical polishing, chemical polishing and other methods can be adopted, and appropriate treatment methods can be selected according to specific quality requirements.
The quality of the cut Shi Ying glass is tested, including dimensional accuracy, flatness, verticality, edge quality and optical performance. Use high-precision measuring instruments, such as three-coordinate measuring instrument and laser interferometer, to ensure that the cut Shi Ying glass meets the design requirements.
